About YOM

Shane decided to establish YOM in the summer of 2021 to provide highly experience commercial and business support focusing on the Affordable Housing Sector, Development activities and the Contractor/Sub Contractor delivery side. 

 Shane's background is as an experienced Commercial Director  within various Contractor and Development organisations and having worked cross sector in Contracting and Development [House Building, Joint Ventures, and inter Company vehicles]. Experienced with precontract to final account and beyond.

Affordable and quality housing is a passion.

Shane is  the 5th generation of his  family involved in Construction.

 Shane has a passion about the built environment and the highly skilled process  and expertise  that is sadly all to often under appreciated .

Shane thrives  on  building strong and lasting meaningful relationships with all stakeholders based on mutual respect, trust and fairness. 

He is particularly proud to have personally  built and lead commercial teams refining them to their full potential, developing & mentoring individuals,  contributing to and influencing  the successful running of multi million pound projects and companies. 

Shane feels strongly that Success is only built on collaboration  and reasonableness.

One always has to have the maturity of addressing (despite the best efforts) any difficult matters projects can generate . Shane advocates an  open understanding of all sides of any  issues and transparent communications and listening to conclude matters.

By nature Shane brings a rigorous commercial approach to all aspects of his work, questioning and sense checking using his wide and varied experience. Yet always retaining strong personal collaborative management skills.

Shane will never see a commercial function working in isolation or silo . 

It is a critical supporter and enabler to facilitate a collaborative, cost effective safe delivery of quality projects.  

A project will always benefit with a commercial conscience to question and challenge for improvement on all levels.

Shane is particularly interested in new solutions for old problems,.

How in this data fuelled age we maintain the art of meaningful communications, breaking down silo thinking , of pride in our tasks  and in respect of our relationships within a  common objective project a business or a task.

Working at board level 

I've experience in working with Private Commercial, Hotel , Build to Rent and Residential Developers and a number of the G15 Housing Associations and London Local Boroughs across a range of new build and refurbishment contracts.

I also have experience in working with Sub Contractor & Designers of all and various sizes and skills sets. 

I have experience in litigation and understand its necessity as a last resort.
